LEGAL NOTICE

 

The Parkersburg Fire Department is soliciting proposals from an exhaust system removal vendor. The vendor shall have experience in comparable work. Written proposals will be accepted by the Fire Department of the City of Parkersburg at One Government Square, P.O. Box 1627, Parkersburg WV 26102 until 10:00am on Friday, January 5th 2017.

 

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Parkersburg Fire Department is seeking proposals for the repair and improvement of existing vehicle exhaust removal systems for six (6) fire stations in Parkersburg, WV. All proposals must meet the minimum specifications and fully integrate with the existing system(s) to ensure uniformity and compatibility for all current hose drops. Parts must be compatible to existing system to be considered.

 

Station 1: Supply and install additional track to middle bay to closely match existing track material. Modify ductwork, as needed. Supply an extreme high temperature (850 degree) lower hose section. Supply new tailpipe adapter to attach to existing nozzle.

 

Station 2: Supply a complete new hose to attach to Engine.

 

Station 3: Supply a complete new hose drop to connect to Ford truck and perform tailpipe modification. Supply new elbow assembly and balancer to closely match current system. Install internal stress cable assembly. Adjust and inspect existing other hose drops.

 

Station 4: Supply new hose section and high temperature lower section hose. Install internal cable assembly.

 

Station 5: Supply a tailpipe adapter to closely match existing nozzle. Nozzle and adapter must seal 100{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} with no opportunity of leaking gases. Modify exhaust pipe as needed. Completely reroute ductwork to better accommodate ladder truck.

 

Station 6: Supply new tailpipe adapter to engine 6 which closely matches existing part. Modify the exhaust pipe for engine 3 and supply an adapter to closely match existing system. Supply new elbow assembly and high temperature lower section to closely match current hose.

 

The following items are requested for a proposal:

 

  1. A technical proposal(s); Describe how the vendor will approach the project. This is meant to demonstrate that the vendor understands the scope of work. Submittal information must be included on all parts supplied to ensure conformity.
  2. Cost estimate; to complete each proposed station, as well as a total price quote.
  3. Experience; including similar work completed for other customers.
  4. Insurance requirements; which will guarantee successful completion of the project.

 

All proposals should be signed by an authorized representative of the company with the proposal. Vendors should submit 2 copies of their proposal(s).

 

PROJECT TIMELINE

In the event the Selection Committee should decide to interview potential vendors, those making a submission should be prepared to give a brief presentation to the committee. Once selected the City’s chosen vendor should be prepared to begin work immediately.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The vendor will comply with all State and Federal regulations. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to wave any formality and to select the proposal that best suits the needs of the City.
