Bid Call 2018-02

Sealed bids for the Decker’ s Creek Pedestrian Bridge project in Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia will be received by the City of Morgantown at the office of 389 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV, until 2:00 PM, local prevailing time on September 29, 2017.

The Bids will be publically opened and read aloud at the same location at that time.

The work consists of the supply and installation of a new prefabricated steel truss pedestrian bridge, construction of an asphalt paved trail, and miscellaneous construction as indicated on the construction drawings.

West Virginia Code 21-11-2 requires all Bidders desiring to perform contractual work in West Virginia must be duly licensed. All prospective Bidders shall be licensed prior to submitting their bid and shall include their contractor’ s license number on their bid in accordance with the requirements of West Virginia Code 21-11-11. All Bidders must also be registered with the City of Morgantown and will be required to pay applicable B&O taxes.

Each Bid shall be accompanied by security in the form of a certified check or Bid Bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of West Virginia payable to the order of the City of Morgantown in the amount of not less than five percent (5 {4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the total bid.

The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, both in the amount of at least one hundred percent (100{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the Contract Price.

Bidding Documents, which consist of the Drawings and the Project Manual, may be obtained at the office of Alpha Associates, Inc., 209 Prairie Ave, Morgantown, WV 26501.

Bidding Documents may be obtained for a fee of $100 made payable to Alpha Associates, Inc. or by VISA/MasterCard for each set of documents so obtained. If documents are to be mailed, a separate non-refundable fee of $10.00 per set is required. Addenda, if any, will be issued only to those whose names and addresses are on record as having obtained Bidding Documents.

A MANDATORY pre-bid conference will be held at the Project Site at 10:00 AM on September 20, 2017. Questions will be received until noon on September 22, 2017. Prevailing wages as indicated in the specifications will be required for this project.

The City of Morgantown reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding.
