NOTICE OF EVIDENTIARY HEARING AND

SEPARATE PUBLIC COMMENT HEARING

On May 12, 2016, the Jefferson County Public Service District (District), a public utility furnishing sewer service to customers in Jefferson County, West Virginia filed an application (Application) for a certificate of convenience and necessity to undertake a project (Project) for the construction of wastewater collection and transmission system improvements. The Application included a petition for approval of an inter-utility agreement with the City of Ranson, the addition of a capital improvement fee and a capacity assurance fee, and post-project across-the-board increases in rates and charges for all customer classes. The District has submitted revisions to this case eliminating the request for approval of the inter-utility agreement and is now seeking rate increases lower than those originally proposed.

A hearing in this matter will be held by the PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF WEST VIRGINIA on February 2 and 3, 2017, beginning each day at 9:30 a.m. in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, Public Service Commission Building, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia. Byrd Center Auditorium, 213 North King Street, Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Interested parties may appear at the public comment hearing and be heard regarding the Application.
