NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

An evidentiary hearing will be held by the Public Service Commission of West Virginia on December 14, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., at the Jefferson County Courthouse, County Commission Meeting Room, 100 E. Washington Street, Charles Town, West Virginia, concerning a pending application for increased rates and charges filed by AVW of West Virginia, Inc., DBA Apple Valley Waste (AVW). AVW is seeking a monthly base rate increase of $2.80 (to $24.32 from $21.52 per month) for residential customers, an increase in the recycle rate of $0.43 (to $3.68 from $3.25), an increase of $0.45 in the residential bag rate (to $4.08 from $3.63), a yard waste bag rate of $3.00 and an increase in the cart rate of $0.52 (to $4.52 from $4.00). Commercial rates will continue to be negotiable. The proposed increases represent 13.01 percent in additional revenue or $1,332,861 annually.

Individual customers may receive increases or decreases that are greater or less than stated here. The requested rates and charges are only a proposal and are subject to approval, denial or modification (increases or decreases) by the Public Service Commission in review of this filing. Any increase in rates and charges will not become effective until authorized and approved by the Public Service Commission.
