NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
The Region VII Planning and Development Council, as part of the Region VII PDC Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee, will hold a public meeting on September 5, 2017 in the City of Parsons, Council Chambers located first floor of the Charles W. “Bill” Rosenau Municipal Building, 341 Second Street, Parsons, WV, at 6 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to review updates to the county’s hazard mitigation plan. Members of the public will be given the opportunity to comment on the natural and man-made hazards most affecting them. As part of this plan update, the Region VII PDC intends to discuss flood-specific risks and potential flood mitigation projects. Those with a concern about flooding in the local area are encouraged to attend.
The Region VII Planning and Development Council Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan was last updated in August 2012 per federal requirements in Section 322 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, as enacted by Section 104 of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.
