INVITATION TO BID
Lump Sum sealed bids for Renovations to Glen Dale Elementary at 407 Seventh Street, Glen Dale, WV, will be received by the Marshall County Board of Education, at its Administrative Offices, Office of the Business Manager, 214 Middle Grave Creek Road, Moundsville, West Virginia 26041, on February 19, 2015 until 1:00 p.m. e.s.t. (Bids received after this time will not be accepted). All complete bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

All Bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Owner.

Email copies of the contract documents may be obtained by request. Email Bid Package requests to Jenny Redden [email protected] and a Bid Package will be sent out. There is no deposit required for emailed Bid Packages, all printing costs incurred by bidders are non-refundable.

This is a Single-Prime, Lum Sum Bid project involving replacement of windows, selected acoustical ceiling tile replacement, replacement of HVAC units with new roof top units, new ADA entrance/exit ramp, and various electrical upgrades. This project is a Prevailing Wage project and requires certified payrolls to be submitted.

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the bidder and furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the state of West Virginia in an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the total Bid including Alternates, must be submitted with each Bid. Each bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin.

The successful Bidder will be required to execute a contract and provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for 100{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} of the contract award.

Pursuant to Chapter 21-Article 11 of the “West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act” of 1991, all Contractors and Subcontractors shall be licensed and in compliance with “Licensing Act”. All General Contractors shall include their license number in the space provided on the Bid Form.

A MANDATORY Pre-Bid meeting will be held on February 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. e.s.t. at Marshall County Board of Education, at its Administrative Offices, Office of the Business Manager, 214 Middle Grave Creek Road, Moundsville, West Virginia 26041. All Prime bidders must attend the Pre-Bid meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions, and other relevant information. Attendance at the Pre-Bid meeting is mandatory for bid qualification.

Contractors shall comply with all applicable national and state codes and regulations listed in the SBA Supplemental, General and Special Conditions.

After the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids, no Bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days. The Owner reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, and to the extent permitted by State law; Marshall County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of Marshall County Schools.
