PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF WEST VIRGINIA CHARLESTON CASE NO. 22-0282-E-GI Task Force to study possible market-based rate for commercial and r industrial electric customers NOTICE OF FILING On March 9, 2022, the Commission instituted a General Investigation and a process for the formation of a market-based rate (MBR) Task Force to pursue the merits of a MBR for commercial and r industrial electric utility customers in West Virginia. Staff will appoint one representative each from technical Staff and legal Staff. The legal Staff representative shall serve as chair of the MBR Task Force. The following entities also shall appoint a representative to the MBR Task Force (i) Monongahela Power Company, (ii) The Potomac Edison Company, (iii) Appalachian Power Company, (iv) Wheeling Power Company, (v) any other electric utility that is regulated by the Commission and interested in participating on the Task Force, (vi) the Consumer Advocate Division, (vii) West Virginia Energy Users Group, and (viii) any other party that may have an interest in a MBR for commercial and r industrial electric utility customers. In addition, the Commission seeks voluntary participation from additional stakeholders representing interests associated with commercial and r industrial electric customers, environmental organizations, and citizen action groups with at least one representative for each interest group. The chair of MBR Task Force will select task force members from those groups expressing interest so as to create a task force that will produce thoughtful and balanced recommendations for the Commission. Anyone desiring to participate on the MBR Task Force in this proceeding should do so within twenty days following the date of this publication. Comments may be filed at any time until further order of the Commission.
