Notice is hereby given that LEXINGTON COAL COMPANY, LLC, 1051 MAIN STREET SUITE 2, , MILTON, WV 25541 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 256.08 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S302605 to Operate a Coal Surface Mine in the Coalburg, Stockton and 5-Block seams of coal.
The operation is discharging into Rattlesnake Hollow and Unnamed Tributary of Smithers Creek and Smithers Creek of the Kanawha River and is located 3.17 miles, east of Cannelton, WV in Valley District of Fayette County, Longitude 81deg. 14′ 27″ and Latitude 38deg. 12′ 22″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
