NOTICE OF CALL FOR BIDS The Town of Clendenin, 103 First Street, Clendenin, WV will accept sealed bids until 4 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022, for the following paving project: 1) Paving (Asphalt – materials, delivery, and lay down by a qualified West Virginia licensed contractor) of 2.2 miles through the Town of Clendenin, as part of the Elk River Trail project; 2) The surface will already be prepared with a stone base that is 4″ to 5″ thick. You will need to do Fine Grading of the gravel for a crown for water runoff. 3) The paving will be for a continuous distance of 2.2 miles and at a consistent width of 8 1/2 feet; 4) The asphalt should be a minimum of a 2 inch base and a 1 1/2 inch topcoat; 5) Public Road Crossings will require an Apron for approach and descent; 6) Private Road Crossings will also require work on the approach and descent; 7) This paving will be solely on the old Elk River Railroad Right-of-Way that passed thru Clendenin; 8) There will be no vehicular traffic ever driving on the new Trail, only as noted above, a few Public Road Crossings and Private Driveway Crossings; 9) The section of the Elk River Trail being paved begins at the north end of town by a locked gate and continues thru town on the old Railroad Right-of-way for 2.2 miles to the junction of Brown Street; 10) The mandatory pre-bid meeting for inspection will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, beginning at 10:00 am at Town Hall located at 103 First Street, Clendenin, WV; 11) Bids will be open promptly at 4 pm on June 23, 2022; 12) All bids must be sealed; 13) The award will be made to the lowest priced qualified bidder; 14) The Town of Clendenin reserves the right to reject any r all bids presented; 15) All bids should be forwarded to: Town of Clendenin Attention: Mayor Kay Summers P.O.
