Notice is hereby given that Sewell Mountain Coal Co., LLC, 265 Brookview Centre Way, Suite 205, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 181.79 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number R065100 to continue to operate a refuse disposal area in the Sewell Seam of Coal.
The operation is discharging into Glade Creek and Unnamed Tributaries of Glade Creek of Meadow River of Gauley River of the Kanawha River and is located 3.10 miles, Northeast of Lookout in the New Haven District of Fayette County, Longitude 80deg. 55′ 33″ and Latitude 38deg. 5′ 41″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map.)

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until July 30, 2022, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until July 30, 2022, of thirty (30) days from final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
