NITRO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING The Nitro Planning Commission will meet on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 6:00 pm in Nitro City Council Chambers at 497 1st Avenue South, Nitro, WV 25143 to consider the following petitions: Nitro Land Reuse Authority is submitting a petition to close 24th Street from First Avenue to 2405 and 2406 24th Street to create a cul-de-sac like neighborhood to facilitate the adjoining property owned by Nitro Land Reuse Authority to create a contiguous property. The NLRA contends the closure will create frontage for economic development purposes to close the street, giving one way exit access from 24th Street on to 25th Street. Tommy and Linda W. Hicks, 107 River Avenue, Nitro, WV 25143 are submitting a petition for the City of Nitro to abandon an unimproved portion of Kanawha Avenue between lots 58A and 58, 59A and 59, 60A and 60, and 61A and 61 bordering on River Avenue to unite the lots. Lyle Clendenin , 104 River Avenue, Nitro, WV 25143 is submitting a petition asking the City of Nitro to abandon an unimproved portion of Kanawha Avenue existing on survey only between lots 53A and 53, 54A and 54, 55A and 55, 56A and 56 and 57A and 57 and bordering on River Avenue.
