Notice is hereby given that GREENBRIER SMOKELESS COAL MINING, LLC 100 BILL BAKER WAY, BECKLEY, WV 25801 has submitted an application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for a Phase 1 release on Permit Number S300514 Increment Number 2 issued for 178.86 acres.
The permit is located in Meadow Bluff District of Greenbrier County, 5.7 miles Northwest of Williamsburg on Unnamed tributaries of South Fork and an unnamed tributary of Old Field Branch Creek; all of Big Clear Creek; unnamed tributaries of/and Joe Knob Branch of Kuhn Branch of Little Clear Creek; all of Meadow River of Gauley River.
GREENBRIER SMOKELESS COAL MINING, LLC completed backfilling and regrading on 5/19/2022 and is requesting release of 60 percent of the reclamation performance bond currently in the amount of $404,540.00.
Written comments will be received at the DEP address above until 11/10/2022, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
