PUBLIC HEARING

The Tucker County Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, 3:30 p.m. at the Tucker County Courthouse Courtroom. The Commission is considering submitting an application to the State of West Virginia Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain information on the community development and housing needs including the needs of the low- and moderate-income persons of Braxton County. All interested persons are urged to attend.

The State of West Virginia expects to receive $14 million from HUD for the FY2023 CDBG Program; $5 million in HOME Investment Partnership Program; $3 million in Housing Trust Fund; $1.6 million in Emergency Solutions Grant; and $577,000 in Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS. These funds will be distributed to communities throughout the State for eligible community development projects which meet the national objective of 51% benefit to low and moderate-income persons or elimination of slum and blight.

This hearing will be an opportunity for interested citizens to express their views on a potential application to be submitted by the Tucker County Commission for CDBG funds. Written comments will be received by the Tucker County Commission, 211 First Street, Suite 307, Parsons, WV 26287, until October 25, 2022, for those unable to attend.
