Rule 19A application to increase water rates and charges,
and request for emergency interim rates.
NOTICE OF EMERGENCY INTERIM RATE INCREASE
On October 26, 2022, the Clay County Public Service District (CCPSD) filed an application for increased rates and charges under the Commission process for small utilities.
On the recommendation of Commission Staff, the Commission approved an emergency interim rate increase of 3.83 percent for CCPSD water bills rendered on or after the effective date of the Order. The specific rates approved are as follows:
RATES (Customers with metered water supply)
First 3,000 gallons used per month $15.16 per 1,000 gallons
Next 3,000 gallons used per month $14.54 per 1,000 gallons
Next 4,000 gallons used per month $13.94 per 1,000 gallons
Next 10,000 gallons used per month $13.34 per 1,000 gallons
All over 20,000 gallons used per month $12.76 per 1,000 gallons
MINIMUM CHARGE
No bill shall be rendered for less than the following:
5/8 inch meter $ 42.00 per month
3/4 inch meter $ 63.00 per month
1 inch meter $ 105.00 per month
1-1/2 inch meter $ 210.00 per month
2 inch meter $ 336.00 per month
3 inch meter $ 630.00 per month
4 inch meter $ 1,050.00 per month
6 inch meter $ 2,100.00 per month
8 inch meter $ 3,360.00 per month
The above minimum charge is subject to an additional $1.16 per 1,000 gallons used per month.
This emergency interim rate increase is applicable to all CCPSD customers. The emergency interim rates are subject to refund if not justified by an ongoing Staff audit and final decision in this matter. Customers may review the specific emergency interim rate changes at the CCPSD offices.
These rates are interim rates only and may be increased, decreased or left unchanged at the conclusion of this rate case. During the course of this proceeding the Staff of the Commission will recommend final rates for use by the District. Those rates will be published at a later date and may be protested at that time.
