PUBLIC NOTICE and PUBLIC HEARING STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA Department of Environmental Protection Division of Water and Waste Management 601 57th Street SE Charleston, WV 25304 Telephone: (304) 926-0495 Fax: (304) 926-0463 GENERAL WV PDES WATER POLLUTION CONTROL PERMIT STORMWATER ASSOCIATED WITH CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES WV PDES PERMIT NO. WV0115924 The State of West Virginia, Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Water and Waste Management is proposing to reissue the West Virginia National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Water Pollution Control Permit for Stormwater Associated with Construction Activities. The General Permit will authorize discharges to surface waters of the state for land disturbance operations during development of residential, commercial, or industrial sites. It is proposed that this General Permit be issued for a five (5) year term. The Director of the Division of Water and Waste Management retains the authority to require any owner perator to apply for and obtain an individual WV PDES Permit. This authority will be exercised when the Director determines that such an individual permit will better protect the receiving water. A virtual public hearing has been scheduled to take official comments on the Draft General Permit. The hearing has been scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024. Pre-registration for the hearing is required.
