NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Notice is hereby given that Common Council for the City of Beckley will receive sealed bids for the replacement of a walk-in combo cooler / freezer for the City’s Historic Black Knight property located at 2400 South Kanawha St., Beckley WV. Sealed bids will be received at City Hall, 409 South Kanawha St, Beckley, WV until Noon 12:00 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2024. The work consists of all the following:

• Removal and disposal of existing walk- in combo cooler/freezer.
• Vendor will provide new Custom walk-in combo cooler/freezer unit per current layout.
• Install new combo cooler/freezer with common walls, ceilings, and floors.
• Install cooler and freezer (right swing out) doors with all necessary hinges, thresholds, jamb guards, switches, and thermostats.
• Supply and install refrigeration equipment – evaporators, condensers, refrigeration line sets and all drains.
• Completely 100% foamed urethane insulated panels are to be provided.
• Walk-in s should have locks and keys furnished.
• Door handle area also provided with an interior safety release to prevent entrapment.
• All walls of walk-ins must be NSF approved finish (galvanized/ stucco aluminum).
• Provide interior LED light fixtures.
• Walk-in shelving to be 4 tier corrosion resistant finishes with antimicrobial protection and with NSF with lift‐off shelf mats.
• Must include manufacturer’s warranty – One year on parts, five years on compressor and one year warranty on labor.

The project will begin and be completed during the summer of 2024. The contractor shall include in their bid and provide all labor, tools and materials for a complete and working project in conformance with the intent shown and as specified therein this bid.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday, May 22rd, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Beckley’s Historic Black Knight, 2400 South Kanawha St. Beckley, WV 25801. Failure to attend the pre-bid conference will result in the bidder being deemed not responsive and thereby disqualified from bidding registration.

The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud during a meeting of the Common Council at 6:30 PM on May 28, 2024. Bids must be submitted to the Recorder – Treasurer in sealed envelopes clearly marked to indicate the contents. Bids may be delivered to 409 South Kanawha Street or mailed to P.O. Box 2514, Beckley WV, 25802-2514. The city of Beckley reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or any part of any bid without cause.
