ORDER OF PUBLICATION
This action seeks the appointment of Sandy S. Cecil
or an appropriate individual as the guardian of the
mineral interest of Sky J. Cecil (the “Minor”) pursuant to
West Virginia Code Section 44-10-3 and an order
authorizing and directing the guardian to execute,
acknowledge, and deliver to Antero a lease and
memorandum of lease covering the Minor’s mineral
interest located in Wetzel County, West Virginia (the
“Subject Minerals”) pursuant to West Virginia Code
Section 37-1-11. The Subject Minerals are identified by
the Wetzel County Assessor’s Office as Magnolia
District, Tax Map 13, Parcel 25 (“Tract 1”); Green
District, Tax Map 1, Parcel 3.9 (“Tract 2”); Green
District, Tax Map 1, Parcels 3.4, 3.11, and 3.5 (“Tract
3″); Green District, Tax Map 1, Parcel 3.7 (“Tract 4”);
Green District, Tax Map 1, Parcel 3.6 (“Tract 5”);
Magnolia District, Tax Map 13, Parcel 25.1 (“Tract 6”);
Green District, Tax Map 1, Parcel 3 (“Tract 7”); Green
District, Tax Map 1, Parcel 3.12 (“Tract 8”); Magnolia
District, Tax Map 13, Parcel 15 (“Tract 9”); Green
District, Tax Map 1, Parcels 3.2 and 3.3 (“Tract 10”);
Green District, Tax Map 1, Parcel 1 (“Tract 11”); Green
District, Tax Map 1, Parcel 3.13 (“Tract 12”); Green Di

It appearing by affidavit filed in this action that
Petitioner Antero Resources Corporation (“Antero”) has
exercised due diligence to ascertain the residence or
whereabouts of Respondent Michael Nero, the Minor’s
biological father, without effect, and therefore desires to
achieve service of process upon him by publication
pursuant to West Virginia Rule of Civil Procedure
4(e)(1)(C).
Accordingly, it is hereby ORDERED that
Respondent Michael Nero must appear and serve upon
Plaintiff Antero Resources Corporation’s counsel,
Lauren K. Turner, Stephenee R. Gandee, and Baylee A.
Carvillano of the law firm of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC,
whose address is 400 White Oaks Boulevard,
Bridgeport, West Virginia 26330, an Answer or other
response to the Verified Petition filed in this action by
August 2, 2024, which is not fewer than thirty days after
the date of the first publication of this notice, otherwise
judgment by default will be rendered against him at any
time thereafter.
A copy of the Verified Petition can be obtained from
the Circuit Clerk’s office in the Wetzel County
Courthouse located at 200 Main Street, New
Martinsville, WV 26155.
