INVITATION FOR BIDS The Mingo County Commission, 78 East 2nd Ave, Room 308, Williamson, Mingo County, West Virginia is seeking sealed bids from qualified vendors for asbestos testing and abatement services for 10 structures identified an unincorporated community along Route 52 in Mingo County as part of the demolition process. These structures must be analyzed individually to determine if the presence of asbestos exists, with abatement to follow if an asbestos presence is confirmed. Bids will be accepted by hand delivery to Leigh Ann Ray at her office located on the third floor of the main courthouse, Room 308-B, or by U.S. mail addressed as follows: Nathan Brown, Mingo County Commission president; Attention: Leigh Ann Ray; 78 East Second Ave., Room 308-B, Williamson, WV 25661. Bids will be accepted until 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the Mingo County Commission regular meeting session scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked on the outside of the envelope “BIDDER – ASBESTOS TESTING.” All bidders will be required to provide proof of a valid, active West Virginia business license. The Mingo County Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities on the bidding process. No bidder may withdraw his er bid within 30 days of after the date of the bid opening. The successful bidder will enter into a contract agreeable to the Mingo County Commission.
