PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Wheeling Urbanized Area has been apportioned funds through what has been known as Section 5307 and Section 5339 of the Federal Transit Act of 1964, as amended. Also, the Ohio Valley Regional Transportation Authority (OVRTA) and the Eastern Ohio Regional Transit Authority (EORTA), as the designated recipients of funds through these programs, intend to apply for capital and operating assistance for fiscal year 2024. The federal share of the capital and operating assistance to be applied for by the OVRTA and the EORTA is $1,370,178 as follows:
Capital Assistance – To purchase 1 replacement under 30′ bus, 1 dump bed for the service truck, 1 generator for the building and stop announcement equipment for the buses. The requested Federal Assistance: $292,291 (OVRTA request $112,292; EORTA request $179,999.)
Operating Assistance – For the period October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024. The requested Federal Assistance: $1,077,887 (OVRTA request $804,398; EORTA request $273,489.)

Anyone who desires to examine the complete application, the Project Budget and/or request that a public hearing be held, should contact Ms. Melissa (Lisa) M. Weishar, Finance Director, at (304) 232-2190, between 8am & 5pm, Monday through Friday, from July 3, 2024 through August 3, 2024. Further unless input received during the comment period affects the above Program of Projects, notice is hereby given that this is the final Program of Projects that will be incorporated into the grant application.
