Invitation To Bid MountainPlex Properties, LLC is requesting bids for a roof replacement and associated repairs for the Historic G.C. Murphy Building located in the Hinton National Historic District at 209 Temple Street, Hinton, WV 25951 The project includes: 1. The removal and disposal of the existing roofing on multi-level roof sections. Removal and disposal of outdated and unused penetrations. 2. Repair eplacement of decayed decking materials and installation of new decking where applicable. 3. The installation of an EPDM or vinyl membrane roof. 4. The installation of new gutters and downspouts. 5. The installation of new metal coping along hidden parapets. 6. Termination of flashing just under the stone caps on front of building. 7. The installation of at least one pre-manufactured roof hatch and related assemblies. 8. Power will be available onsite. 9. Port-a-Potty will have to be provided by the contractor. Placement TBD. The project completion date is no later than May 30, 2025 and will be reviewed by the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Contractors will be selected based upon (1) cost, (2) experience with similar historic preservation projects, and (3) proven ability to complete a project. The contractor must carry out the described work in compliance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation The bid package is available by calling Sheila Allman at 304-228-3743 or emailing [email protected]. MANDATORY PRE-BID The property will be open for a mandatory pre-bid walk-through at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 2, 2024. All bidders must be present by 12 pm to access the roof. All BIDS must be in the form of a PDF File and emailed to [email protected] no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2024. Please note: There are no working elevators on this property. Bidders will be required to walk up steps and climb through the roof hatch. If you cannot climb the stairs and through the roof hatch, please plan to send someone who can. Any questions must be submitted in writing and answers will be returned to all bidders in an addendum following the walk-through. BID FORMAT Bidding Contractors must submit a detailed bid, listing all major elements of the Scope of the work. The BID package includes a Bid Form to be used by the bidding contractors in submitting their bids. QUALIFICATIONS Contractors must show evidence of the completion of similar (3) historic preservation projects. Contractors must also show evidence that they have the ability to complete the project in a timely manner and have appropriate licenses (local and otherwise) and insurances.
