Ramaco Resources Land Holdings, LLC of 250 West Main Street, Suite 1800, Lexington, Kentucky 40507 is applying to the Virginia Mined Land Repurposing Program for a Renewal of PERMIT No. 1102335 in order to continue the operations at the following location.
This surface and underground mining operation is located in Tazewell County on West Fork of Big Creek, Big Creek, and Goodwin Hollow, north of Richlands, Virginia, south of the Buchanan / Tazewell County line, east of Town Hill Creek, and west of Big Creek, approximately 1.5 miles southwest of Jewell Ridge on the USGS Jewell Ridge quadrangle map, latitude 370 10’ 18.86”, longitude 810 47’ 51.79”. The Renewal Map showing the proposed permit area is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.
Drainage and wastewater resulting from the permitted operation will be discharged as follows:
Name the receiving streams: West Fork of Big Creek, Big Creek, and Goodwin Hollow.
State the type of discharge: Storm water runoff from permitted sediment structures. The discharge that comes from this permit will be surface runoff.
Location: All sediment structures are located in West Fork of Big Creek, Big Creek, and Goodwin Hollow. All discharge locations are existing or permitted. The discharge locations may be viewed on the Surface Water Hydrology Map which is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.
Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of November 1, 2024 submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
