PROPOSED ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING AND FIXING WATER RATES FEES
AND CHARGES FOR
THE TOWN OF ALDERSON
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to West Virginia Code §8-11-4(a)(2), that on the 12th day of August, 2015, the Town Council of the Town of Alderson caused to be read a proposed ordinance increasing its current water rates, fees and charges which have been in effect since October 12, 2012.  The increased rates will enable the Town to perform water system improvements, meet its current day-to-day operating expenses, and maintain its water system.  In order to ease the impacts of the rate increase needed, the Town Council has phased in these rate increases. The first of three increases in rates will be placed into effect 45 days from passage of the proposed Ordinance. The second step would be on bills after May 1, 2016 and the third step would become effective on bills issued after December 1, 2016. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available at the office of the Town Hall of Alderson, 202 South Monroe St., Alderson, West Virginia, Monday through Friday, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Town Council of Alderson will hold a public hearing on the ordinance on September 10th, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.  Thereafter, the Town Council will meet for its final reading and vote on the ordinance.  The hearing and meeting are open to the public and will be held in the Council Chambers of Alderson Town Hall/Municipal Building. Inte-rested parties may appear at the hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed rates, fees or charges.
