ADVERTISEMENT FOR CLERK-OF- THE-WORKS The Lewis County Board of Education is seeking to hire contracted services for a Clerk-of-the-Works for HVAC Replacement at Lewis County High School in Weston, West Virginia. This project was funded by the School Building Authority of West Virginia and the Lewis County Schools. Responsibilities: Observe work being performed by contractors at the construction site and file reports in accordance with the construction contract documents. Attend project meetings as the Owners Representative, monitor construction progress, and maintain records as directed. This project will follow the School Building Authority of West Virginia policy and procedures. Additional SBA Clerk Duties will be provided upon request from the Lewis County Schools. On-site Working Hours: A Clerk will be required to be on-site daily while the General Contractor is performing work per the Construction Document. Weekend and Overtime will be discussed and negotiated with Lewis County Schools. Minimum Qualifications: Architectural or engineering degree or equivalent knowledge and experience with WV inspection codes and standards in commercial or industrial construction. Must have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all phases of non-residential construction and be capable of evaluating construction. Preferred: 3-years practical experience as a construction supervisor, foreman or Clerk-of-the-Works for non-residential construction projects. HVAC and Electrical project experience. Minimum Requirements: Individuals should have valid driver’s license and prepared to use personal vehicle between project locations, access to digital camera / cell phone for onsite photograph documentation and personal cell phone for onsite communication. REQUEST FOR STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATION FOR COMMISSIONING AUTHORITY SERVICES HVAC REPLACEMENT AT LEWIS COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL Lewis County Schools is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals or firms to provide Commissioning Authority (CxA) Services for the HVAC Replacement at Lewis County High School located in Weston, West Virginia. This school was funded by Lewis County School and The School Building Authority of West Virginia. The work shall include all services to be in accordance with the Scope of Commissioning Work. These services must have a West Virginia Registered Engineer on their team. Qualified firms are invited to submit one hard copy of their expressions of interest, including a statement of qualifications, performance exhibits, WV school project CxA experience, and other relevant information no later than 2:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025, at the office of the Lewis County Schools at 239 Court Avenue, Weston, West Virginia 26452 attention Mr. Ryan Dumont, Administrator – Facilities/Maintenance. The Owner’s will evaluate the submitted statements of qualifications and determine the most qualified person or firm to be the Commissioning Agent. Lewis County Schools shall then enter into fee negotiations with the highest ranked firm. In the event that an agreeable fee cannot be negotiated with the highest ranked firm, negotiations shall cease with this firm, and open negotiations with the second most qualified firm, and continue with other firms as necessary until negotiations are successfully concluded. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and/or all statements from interested firms received and to make the award to a firm in any manner deemed by it, in its sole discretion, to be in the best interest of Lewis County Schools and in accordance with WV Code 5G-1-4.
