Notice of Meeting of Wayne County Commission As Board of Review and Equalization during February 2025 Pursuant to the Code of West Virginia, Chapter 11, Article 3, Section 24, the County Commission of Wayne County, West Virginia, will meet in Room 103 of the Wayne County Courthouse as the Board of Review and Equalization for the purpose of reviewing and equalizing assessments made for the Fiscal Year 2025. During this time of January 31st and thereafter, until February 24th, a property owner may request a hearing to protest and seek relief from his or her assessment for property tax purposes. A property owner must call 304-272-6349 beforehand to attempt to resolve any problems with the Wayne County Assessor’s Office. If you are unable to resolve your issues with the Wayne County Assessor’s Office and need to schedule a hearing with the Board of Review and Equalization, you may contact Miranda Stephens, Administrative Secretary for the Wayne County Commission, at 304-272-6350. Before scheduling the hearing, the taxpayer should also submit written documentation for filing and review, setting forth the reason for the protest. This written request may be mailed to the Wayne County Commission, P.O. Box 248, Wayne, WV 25570. Said written request may also be delivered in person to Room 104 of the Wayne County Courthouse, 700 Hendricks Street, Wayne, WV, 25570. The last day to request a hearing is Thursday, February 20, 2025, before 3:00 PM. Requests submitted by mail must arrive prior to the time and date stated above.
