ABANDONED MINE LANDS AND RECLAMATION
Public meetings will be conducted to describe proposed AML Economic Revitalization (AMLER) Projects. The intent of these AMLER Projects is to alleviate health, safety and environmental problems created by coal mines abandoned prior to August 3, 1977, while providing an opportunity for economic and community development end use. Information regarding these projects, including required NEPA documentation, can be obtained from the WVDEP at 304-926-0499. The following projects listed with county locations will be explained.

*These projects will be or have been submitted to and vetted by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement for funding consideration. Public meetings to explain these projects will be conducted as follows:

Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Charleston – WV DEP, Office of Abandoned Mine Lands and Reclamation, 601 57th St. SE, Charleston, WV 26330, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Thursday, March 6, 2025, Fayetteville – WV DEP, Office of Abandoned Mine Lands and Reclamation, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
