TOWN OF CHESAPEAKE (WV) – REQUEST FOR BIDS ASBESTOS TESTING & ABATEMENT FOR DEMOLITION PROJECT The Town of Chesapeake (WV) is accepting sealed bids for the asbestos testing and abatement of six (6) dwellings within town limits. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder meeting all regulatory compliance requirements. Scope of Work: If asbestos testing has been completed: Results will be provided at the pre-bid meeting. If testing is part of the bid: The contractor must conduct asbestos testing before abatement. If asbestos is present, the contractor must safely remove and dispose of it following WVDEP, EPA (NESHAP), and OSHA regulations before demolition. Contractor Requirements: Must be a licensed asbestos abatement contractor in West Virginia or subcontract to a licensed abatement firm. Must provide proof of licensing, insurance, and previous experience in asbestos abatement. Must register to do business with the Town of Chesapeake (WV). Must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, including smoke-free workplace policies as applicable under WV law.
