CITY OF SOUTH CHARLESTON CITY COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The City Council of the City of South Charleston will hold a public hearing in Council Chambers, City Hall, 401 D Street, South Charleston, West Virginia 25303 on Thursday April 3, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. for the consideration of an ordinance to re-zone 162 parcels located in in the Jefferson Park subdivision, South Charleston, West Virginia 25309 (Kanawha County Tax Parcels – 18-9-1 thru 172 and 18-10-3.1 thru 6). The request is to re-zone the property from R-6 to C-10. The property is currently being used for residential single-family residences, has multiple vacant lots, and is adjacent to a C-10 zoning district. The South Charleston Planning Commission has held a public hearing on this matter, based upon a petition received by the South Charleston Municipal Building Commission, which owns more than 50% of the real property in the subject area, and has made a recommendation for the City Council to change the zoning for these parcels.
