ADVERTISEMENT FOR CLERK-OF- THE-WORKS The Pocahontas County Board of Education is seeking to hire contracted services for a Clerk-of-the-Works for Electrical Renovations and Gymnasium Floor Replacement at Pocahontas County High School in Dunmore, West Virginia. This project was funded by the School Building Authority of West Virginia and Pocahontas County Schools. Responsibilities: Observe work being performed by contractors at the construction site and file reports in accordance with the construction contract documents. Attend project meetings as the Owners Representative, monitor construction progress, and maintain records as directed. This project will follow the School Building Authority of West Virginia policy and procedures. Additional SBA Clerk Duties will be provided upon request from the Pocahontas County Schools. On-site Working Hours: A Clerk will be required to be on-site daily while the General Contractor is performing work per the Construction Document. Weekend and Overtime will be discussed and negotiated with Pocahontas County Schools. Minimum Qualifications: Architectural or engineering degree or equivalent knowledge and experience with WV inspection codes and standards in commercial or industrial construction. Must have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all phases of non-residential construction and be capable of evaluating construction. Preferred: 3-years practical experience as a construction supervisor, foreman or Clerk-of-the-Works for non-residential construction projects. Electrical renovation project experience is preferred. Minimum Requirements: Individuals should have valid driver’s license and prepared to use personal vehicle between project locations, access to digital camera / cell phone for onsite photograph documentation and personal cell phone for onsite communication.
