CITY OF NITRO ACCEPTING BIDS The City of Nitro is accepting bids for asphalt and concrete paving for spring and fall 2025. Your bid will be all inclusive – labor, equipment, milling, tie-ins and 2-inch asphalt unless otherwise noted. The noted streets below have been dotted with paint to show the beginning & end of each section. Please show the total cost of each street. We may do half this spring and half this the fall. One section on County Road – number 79-10 x 250. One section on Michigan Ave South above St. Albans bridge where drain was replaced – number 87-12 x 20. Replace with 4 inches of asphalt. One section on Dupont Av So above the St. Albans bridge where drain was replaced – number 83-12 x 80. Kanawha Ave at the end of Kapok St that has never been paved. ~16 ft wide x 200 ft length (priority). 15th St East on 3rd Ave – number SO-pave 15th St to 17th St 15 x 360 Top of Short St one large section (priority) – number 66 – 13 x 310 9th St entrance from 1st Ave – number 62-16 x 16 and from house number 921 top of bank and flare out – number 62-26 x 180 (PRIORITY) 12th St entrance – number 54-32 x 24 12th St from house number 1223 to 1232 – number-58-26 x 250 – this section should have one to two inches of gravel for a better base (PRIORITY). 15th St entrance from 1st Ave – number 46-26 x36-2inch asphalt – go to house number 1505 – number 46 – excavate full depth area and install 6 inches of stone base-27 x 160-with 4 inch of asphalt (PRIORITY). 19th St at crossing end near 2nd Ave one large section – number 42-10 x 32 16 St at top of 3rd Ave to wall and flare out number – 70-16 x 50 20th St from 2nd Ave to end of frontier building – number 38-38 x 330 22nd St from 1st Ave back to new pavement-number 34-24 x 100 23rd St from 1st Ave to 2nd Ave – number 30-32×390 24th St new turn-around from turn around to 2nd Ave Will be done this fall or spring 2026 25th St from 1st Ave up to construction ends (maybe fall)-number 26-30 x170 29th St entrance from 1st Ave – number 22-26 x 40 32nd St entrance to end of go mart-number 18-25 x120 35th St entrance and both sides to 2nd Ave- number 10-each section 10 x 200 36th St entrance from 1st Ave – number 14 -24 x 28 38th St to 39th St on 2nd Ave one large section needs paved-number 6-10 x 20 39th St entrance-number 2-26 x 80 31st St East several sections marked them starting with one through four Section one-12 x 40, Section two-15 x 170, Section three to house 100-13 x 250, Section four-12 x 230 Bids will be accepted at Nitro City Hall until 3:00pm, Friday April 18, 2025.
