PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Wheeling Urbanized Area has been apportioned funds through what has been known as Section 5307 and Section
5339 of the Federal Transit Act of 1964, as amended. Also, the Ohio Valley
Regional Transportation Authority (OVRTA) and the Eastern Ohio Regional
Transit Authority (EORTA), as the designated recipients of funds through these programs, intend to apply for capital and operating assistance for fiscal year 2025. The federal share of the capital and operating assistance to be applied for by the OVRTA and the EORTA is $1,630,522 as follows:
Capital Assistance – To purchase 1 replacement under 30′ bus and 2 replacement vans. The requested Federal Assistance: $350,324 (OVRTA
request $87,162; EORTA request $263,162.) Operating Assistance – For the period October 1, 2024 to September 30,
2025. The requested Federal Assistance: $1,280,198 (OVRTA request $844,618; EORTA request $435,580.)
