NOTICE OF STAFF-RECOMMENDED RATES
On February 3, 2025, Clay-Roane Public Service District, of Procious, West Virginia, filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia an Application requesting increased rates and charges for furnishing water service to approximately 856 customers in Clay and Roane Counties, in West Virginia.
The Staff of the Public Service Commission has reviewed the District’s rate increase application and recommended an increase in annual revenue of $42,346, or 5.24% over the District’s current rates. The Staff Recommended Rates will become effective for all service rendered on and after the date upon which the Public Service Commission’s order in this case becomes final. The Staff Recommended Rates are designed to produce approximately $42,346 in additional revenue annually for the District, an overall increase of 5.24% over revenue under Current Rates. Under the Staff Recommended Rates, the monthly bill for the District’s average residential customer with usage of 2,700 gallons will increase by $3.56 monthly or 5.25% over current rates. The District’s commercial customers at the average monthly usage of 1,900 gallons will experience an increase of $2.64 monthly or 5.25% over current rates. The monthly bill for the District’s average public authority customer with usage of 1,800 gallons per month will increase by $2.64 or 5.25% over current rates.

Anyone desiring to review the Staff recommendation report may do so on the Commission website (www.psc.state.wv.us). Anyone desiring to protest the changed rates and charges must do so, in writing, within ten (10) days of the date of publication of this notice. All protests may be filed on line through the Commission website using the “Submit a Comment” link or may be mailed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia 25323, or hand-delivered to the Public Service Commission. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to reasons that the changed rates and charges should be modified.
The Commission may adopt rates and charges which are the same as, greater than or less than the Staff-recommended rates and charges.
