Public Invited to Open House for Bel-O-Mar Transportation Study (Belomar)
Metropolitan Transportation Plan
Wheeling, WV – The Bel-O-Mar Transportation Study (Belomar) will host an in-person open house on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM to provide updates on the Metropolitan Transportation Plan, gather public feedback, and engage the public. Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in shaping future transit and transportation options in the region.

Hosted by the Bel-O-Mar Regional Council (Belomar), the open house will focus on the development of the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, a long-range strategy that will guide transportation investments and improvements through the year 2050. The MTP addresses regional needs across all modes of transportation, including roads, public transit, bikeways, airports, and freight infrastructure.
The 2050 MTP will guide future transportation projects across the region, including roads, public transit, bikeways, airports, and freight infrastructure. Future opportunities for public engagement on the MTP will be announced soon.

The Bel-O-Mar Regional Council oversees the Bel-O-Mar Transportation Study, supporting transportation planning and development across Belmont County, Ohio, and Ohio and Marshall Counties in West Virginia. The Council’s efforts aim to enhance mobility, safety, and connectivity across the region through informed planning and robust public participation. The 2050 MTP will guide regional transportation improvements through 2050, incorporating input from diverse community stakeholders and addressing both current and future transit needs.
