In response to a release of
petroleum products from
regulated tanks, the
property owner/operator
under the direction of the
Tanks Corrective Action
Unit of the Department of
Environmental Protection
developed a draft
corrective action plan
(CAP) for the following
site:
Former Wayne’s
Country Store
State Route 2
Proctor, West Virginia 20265
Leak ID # 92-210-L26
WV ID # 2601397
The CAP briefly describes
the extent of the release
and details the proposed
cleanup methods at the
site. The proposed
method of remediation is
absorption, oxidation, and
destruction of
contaminants via injection
of remediation fluid
containing carbon with
added electron receptors,
a solid oxidant complex
(sodium
percarbonate/catalytic
formulation) and an
activator complex (a
composition of ferrous salt
embedded in a
micro-scale catalyst gel.
The remedial goal is
attainment of the WVDEP
Action Levels forsoil and
groundwater. Copies of
the CAP are available for
public review at the
