Bid Advertisement – Salt Shed Materials The Village of Barboursville ("Village") is accepting sealed quotes for the purchase of a pre-engineered salt shed structure plan/kit to be installed by Village personnel. The structure shall have approximate dimensions of 36 feet wide by 36 feet long, with sufficient height to accommodate the storage of 200 tons of salt for snow and ice control. The structure may consist of truss or pipe members with fabric covering, or steel arch panels. The successful bidder must provide signed and stamped drawings by a licensed professional engineer. The design must meet or exceed the West Virginia State Building Code requirements, and any applicable local codes for Barboursville, Cabell County, West Virginia region, including wind and snow loads. The Village will construct the foundation slab and three vertical walls (8 feet in height) to which the structure will be attached. Bidders are not responsible for installation or construction of these elements. Quotes will be evaluated based on cost, delivery time, and warranty. The warranty must cover both the materials provided and the engineering design. Sealed bids must be clearly marked "Salt Shed Materials Quote" and delivered by mail to the Village Recorder P.O. Box 266, Barboursville, WV 25504, no later than 11:00 a.m. on October 7, 2025. Faxed or emailed bids will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened shortly after that time and presented to Council at 7:30 p.m. the same day. Bidders are welcome to attend. The successful bidder will be notified thereafter.
