NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL CALENDAR KANAWHA COUNTY SCHOOLS W.Va. Code 18-5-45 Please take notice that the Board of Education of the County of Kanawha will hold two public hearings on the proposed 2026-2027 school calendar. The first one will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., and the second one will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Both hearings will take place in the Board Auditorium, at the offices of the Kanawha County Board of Education, 200 Elizabeth Street, Charleston, West Virginia. Parents, teachers, teacher organizations, businesses and other interested parties within the county may attend and express their views concerning the school calendar. Individuals wishing to speak may sign up to do so up to five minutes prior to each meeting. Each speaker shall be limited to no more than five minutes. Written statements may be submitted in lieu of oral statements or testimony and must be submitted prior to the conclusion of the hearing. Any written statement will be given full consideration before the board takes any final action. A copy of the proposed calendars are available for inspection on the Kanawha County School website and in the office of the Superintendent of Schools beginning on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
