Notice of Availability of FONSI
The USDA – Rural Development, Rural Utilities Service has received an application for financial assistance from the Town of Rupert. The proposed water project consists of installing approximately 2 decant basins and 2 drying beds which will allow the town to properly backwash their filters in a proper schedule.
As required by the National Environmental Policy Act, the Rural Utilities Service has assessed the potential environmental effects of the proposed project and has determined that the proposal will not have a significant effect on human environment and for which an Environmental Impact Study will not be prepared. This determination is based on the extensive review process performed by USDA – Rural Development. This review included various federal and state agencies’ concurrences.
