IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF BOONE COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA CIVIL ACTION NO: CC-03-2025-C-103 STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA, BY ITS PROSECUTING ATTORNEY OF BOONE COUNTY, for and on behalf of the US 119 VIOLENT CRIME AND DRUG TASK FORCE, PETITIONER VS. SARAH E. HALSTEAD AND UNITED STATES CURRENCY IN THE SUM OF EIGHTEEN THOUSAND AND FIVE DOLLARS ($18,005.00) IN U. S. CURRENCY AND ANY OTHER UNKNOWN PARTIES OF INTEREST, DEFENDANT(S) ORDER OF PUBLICATION OF NON RESIDENCY The object of the above-entitled suit is to seek an Order forfeiting the herein described property/currency pursuant to the West Virginia Contraband Forfeiture Act (Chapter 60A, Article 7, of the West Virginia code, as amended) to the State of West Virginia. TO: Any claimant of a right or interest in said property listed as SARAH E. HALSTEAD, EIGHTEEN THOUSAND AND FIVE DOLLARS ($18,005.00) IN U. S. CURRENCY AND ANY OTHER UNKNOWN PARTIES OF INTEREST. “You have the right to file a claim to the above-described property within the time specified hereafter. Any such claim must clearly state the identity of the claimant and an address where legal process can be served upon said claimant. It is appearing by affidavit filed in the case that last known address of the Sarah E. Halstead, P. O. Box 954, Madison, WV 25130. That the above-named individual defendant(s) was/were in the possession of the above referred property in Boone County, West Virginia, when it was seized by officers(s) of the West Virginia State Police/US 119 Violent Crime and Drug Task Force. THEREFORE, it is ORDERED that Sarah E. Halstead and or any other claimant(s) serve upon Daniel L. Holstein, Prosecuting Attorney of Boone County, West Virginia at 200 State Street, Suite 304, Madison West Virginia, 25130, (304-369-7328), an answer or other defense to the complaint filed in this action on or before 30 days from date of publication, otherwise, judgment by default will be taken against the Defendants/Claimants at any time thereafter. Such order requested of the Court will direct forfeiture of the seized property to the state and vesting ownership of such property in the U.S. 119 Violent Crime and Drug Task Force.
