INVITATION TO BID
The City of New Martinsville, WV will be receiving sealed bids from contractors registered in the State of West Virginia for the Lewis Wetzel Park Swimming Pool Renovation until Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. local time, at which time they will be time stamped by the New Martinsville Recorder’s office. Address/ Title: Lewis Wetzel Pool Renovation, C/O. City of New Martinsville Recorder’s Office, 191 Main Street, New Martinsville, WV 26155. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Chambers of the City Hall in New Martinsville, WV at 1:00 p.m. (due at 12:00 p.m.) on Thursday, December 10, 2015.
The project includes partial demolition of the existing pool, construction of a new pool mostly within the confines of the existing pool, installation of splash play water features and all associated plumbing, filtration and electrical needs, concrete deck, construction of a filter building, handrails, minor earthwork, and associated storm water management practices. To be considered for the swimming pool construction, the bidder must have a contractor’s license, be bondable, and have a minimum of five years experience in the construction of plaster finish pools. The pool contractor must provide at the pre-bid meeting proof of constructing five pools with a surface area of 3,000 square feet or more and that have been in operation for at least three years.
Copies of the plans, specifications and proposal forms may be obtained from the office of Hays Landscape Architecture Studio, Ltd., 145 East Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio upon payment of one hundred dollars ($100.00) made payable to The City of New Martinsville. Copies of the bidding documents may also be mailed upon the request of the bidder for an additional non refundable one hundred dollars ($100.00). The initial pick-up deposit is refundable and issued only to those contractors submitting a bonafide proposal and who return the documents in good condition within 10 days following the bid opening.

A Bid bond of 5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} of the total bid amount must be submitted with the bid documents.
A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at the Family Center at Lewis Wetzel Park, 442 E. Benjamin Drive, New Martinsville, WV on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at which time questions will be answered regarding this project.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty days.
The City of New Martinsville reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to negotiate with the lowest qualified bidder and to waive any informality in a bid or to reject an informal bid if necessary.
