I, William H. Rice, Mayor of Sistersville, do hereby give notice to
qualified voters of said City of Sistersville that an election will be held in the
different wards thereof, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, for the purpose of
electing the following:
MAYOR-
One full two-year term
FIRST WARD
One council member for a two-year term
SECOND WARD
One council member for a full four-year term
THIRD WARD
One Council member for a two-year term
FOURTH WARD
One council member for a full two-year term
One council member for a full four-year term
Filing period is January 12, 2026, through January 31, 2026. Mayor $20.00 and Council $10.00
The filing is made with the municipal recorder or clerk, and may be made by mail, but must be postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service no later than midnight of the last day of the filing. The form of the certificate is set by law and must be notarized. A certificate of announcement that lacks essential information may be rejected. W.Va. Code 3-5-7
Early voting in person begins March 13, 2026, at the City Building and ends March 21, 2026. Early voting will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
Polling locations will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. at the following locations:
First Ward – Sistersville Volunteer Fire Department
Second Ward – Church of Christ Annex
Third Ward – City Hall
Fourth Ward – Methodist Church
