Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Amendment to the Hampshire County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance
Notice is hereby given that the Hampshire County Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., at the Hampshire County Courthouse, Romney, West Virginia, in the Old Courtroom to consider adoption of amendments to the Hampshire County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, during the Commission’s regularly scheduled meeting.
The proposed amendment adds and revises standards for industrial-scale solar and industrial-scale wind energy facilities, including definitions, application requirements, setbacks, screening, decommissioning, emergency response planning, and emergency response exaction fees. The amendment also revises waiver provisions, reorganizes certain review procedures, and updates the ordinance fee schedule.
A copy of the proposed amendment may be examined at the Hampshire County Planning Office, 90 North High Street, Romney, West Virginia 26757, during regular business hours. Written comments may be submitted to the Hampshire County Planning Office before the hearing, and interested persons may appear at the hearing and be heard.
