PUBLIC NOTICE: The Housing Authority of Raleigh County (RCHA) dba Southern West Virginia Housing welcomes public input on its 2025 Annual Agency PHA Plan, 2026 Annual Public Housing Authority (PHA) Plan,2025-2028 Capital Fund Five-Year Plan and Five-Year Agency PHA Plan in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Plans outline the agency's policies, programs, and strategies for meeting local housing needs and goals and are available for public review for a period of 45 days, beginning on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, and ending on Friday, May 15th, 2026. Copies of the 2025, and 2026 Annual Plan, as well as the Five-Year Plan, and all supporting documents are available for public inspection during normal business hours at the RCHA Administrative Office located at 2955 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, WV 25801, online at https://southernwvhousing.com/document-center/, and at the following public housing developments: Appletree Apartments (150 Maple Street, Sophia, WV) and Timberline Townhomes (402 George Moss Street, Mabscott, WV). The Housing Authority's hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 am to 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. A public hearing will be held on May 20th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Appletree Apartments, 150 Maple St., Sophia, WV. All interested parties are encouraged to attend and provide comments. Written comments may also be submitted to the Housing Authority at the address listed above during the public comment period, and all comments received will be considered before submission to HUD.
