The City of Huntington will hold a public informational meeting for the Huntington Downtown Streetscape Improvements project on April 28th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at 1 Civic, 1 Center Plaza, Huntington, WV 25701. The meeting will be an open house format with a brief presentation at 6 PM. The public is invited to attend and provide comments on a streetscape improvement plan for the Central Business District in Downtown Huntington. The project includes improvements within the public right of way including enhanced safety and accessibility, increased parking, the introduction of wayfinding signage and historical markers, as well as West Virginia's first "Shared Street" along 9th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues, designed as a curbless roadway creating a walkable pedestrian plaza during times of street closures. The project will improve ten blocks of downtown streets, including portions of 8th, 9th and 10th Streets and 3rd Avenue. This is the third of three public meetings for the project.
