NOTICE OF PROPERTY SALE
Pursuant to West Virginia Code §7-3-3(e), the Monongalia County Commission proposes to sell by contract the parcels of land and improvements thereon identified in the Monongalia County Assessors office on Morgantown-7th Ward Corp Tax Map 6 as Parcels 74.2, 75 and 76, commonly known as the locations of Monongalia County Health Department and WIC Buildings, with the respective street addresses of 453 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown, West Virginia and 1000 Elmer Prince Drive, Morgantown, West Virginia (the Properties). The Monongalia County Commission proposes to sell the Properties together by contract for no less than a cash purchase price equal to the greater of (a) Six Million Dollars ($6,000,000.00) and (b) seventy-five percent (75.0%) of the Properties aggregated appraised values. The acceptable contract for the purchase and sale of the Properties shall provide no less as conditions for the transaction including a closing of the purchase and sale of the Properties on or before June 30, 2026, and a lease-back to the Monongalia County Commission of the Properties for a mutually-agreed period of time following the closing of the purchase and sale of the Properties, together with and subject to mutually-agreed additional contingencies.
To be eligible to make an offer to purchase the Properties, a person shall tender its written cash offer for the Properties together with reasonable proof of its capacity to close and ready funds equal to ten percent (10%) of its proposed purchase price as the earnest money. The deadline for submission of written offers is 10:00 am on May 6, 2026. Both the written offer and the earnest money shall be held in escrow until the Monongalia County Commission shall have executed and delivered a formal purchase and sale agreement. Further details regarding the escrow procedure are available upon request from the office of the Monongalia County Commission.
The Monongalia County Commission will consider and act upon the purchase and sale of the Properties at 10:00 am on May 13, 2026, in the County Commission Chambers of the Monongalia County Courthouse, 243 High Street, 2nd Floor, Morgantown, West Virginia.
