Transportation Improvement Program Amendment
The Morgantown Monongalia Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Board will meet on May 21, 2026 at 6 p.m.
The MPO Policy Board will consider amending the urban areas Transportation Improvement Program for the projects listed below on May 21, 2026 at 6 p.m. in Morgantown City Council Chamber, 389 Spruce Street Morgantown WV, 26505. The proposed amendments are available at the MMMPOs website: www.plantogether.org and in the MPOs Offices located at 243 High Street Room 026.
West Virginia Department of Transportation Divisions of Highways requested the following Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendments:
New Project:
I-79 CHAPLIN HILL GATEWAY (PHASE 2) (CONVERT AC). Federal ID: NHPP0079156D. FFY: 2027. Type of Work: RECONSTRUCT I/C. Phase: Construction. Funding Source: MEGA GRANT. Federal Funding: $31,000,000. Total Funding: $135,000,000. Location Description: I-79 Exist 155.
POINT MARION ROAD INTERSECTION. Federal ID: CARB0119605D. FFY: 2026. Type of Work: DESIGN STUDY. Phase: Engineering. Funding Source: CRP 50-200K POP. Federal Funding: $960,000. Total Funding: $1,200,000. Location Description: Intersection of Point Marion Road and Stewartstown Road/Canyon Road.
Mountain Line Transit Authority relies on the MPOs Public Participation Process to satisfy its public participation requirements for the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). This notice serves as an invitation for public involvement, review, and comments for the TIP relative to Mountain Line Transit Authority participation in this process.
According to the MPOs Public Involvement Policy, any changes to the TIP requires a fifteen (15) day public comment period. The proposed TIP Amendment will be available for review from April 16, until May 20, 2026 at the MPO at the address shown below. The MPO Policy Board will consider approval of the proposed amendment at its regularly scheduled meeting on May 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
