NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING KANAWHA COUNTY COMMISSION UNION PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT PROPOSED SEWER RATE INCREASE Please take notice that the Kanawha County Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed sewer rate increase request submitted by Union Public Service District pursuant to W. Va. Code 16-13A-9. The public hearing will be held on May 18, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Voter Registration Office, 415 Quarrier Street, Charleston, West Virginia 25301. Union Public Service District is requesting a 16.1% increase in its sewer rates. For a customer using 3,400 gallons, the average monthly bill is projected to increase from $39.92 to $46.34, which is an increase of $6.42 per month. A copy of Union Public Service District's proposed sewer rate increase request is available for public inspection at the Office of the Kanawha County Commission during regular business hours. At said hearing, the Kanawha County Commission will hear comments from the public regarding the proposed sewer rate increase and may take action to approve, modify, or reject the same as provided by law.
