TO:Sondra Ann Reid, Mother of a Female Child, born January 7, 2022 in
Davidson County, North Carolina.
TAKE NOTICE that a Petition has been filed against you in the District Court of Davidson County, North Carolina by the Davidson County Department of Social Services, Petitioner. The nature of the relief being sought is Adjudication of the above-captioned child as a neglected and dependent juvenile.
You are required to answer the Petition and make defense to such pleading not later than forty (40) days (June 30, 2026) after the date of first publication of this notice. Upon your failure to do so, Petitioner will apply to the court for an order adjudicating the above-captioned child as a neglected and dependent juvenile.
You have the right to be represented by a lawyer in this case. If you want a lawyer and cannot afford one, the Court will appoint a lawyer to represent you. You may hire a lawyer of your choice at any time, or you may waive the right to a lawyer and represent yourself. Lawyer, Andrew Curry, 212 N. State Street, Lexington, NC 27292, (336) 248-2304, has been provisionally appointed to represent the respondent/mother, Sondra Ann Reid. At the first court hearing you attend; the Court will determine whether you qualify for a court-appointed lawyer. If you do not, the lawyer named above may be released. NOTE: If a lawyer is appointed for you and if the Court adjudicates the child to be a neglected and dependent juvenile, you may become liable for repayment of the lawyer's fees and a judgment for the amount of the fees may be entered against you. You are entitled to attend any hearing affecting the adjudication of the above-captioned child.
