PUBLIC NOTICE OF VOLUNTARY REMEDIATION PROGRAM APPLICATION PUBLIC NOTICE NO.: VRP #17009 PAPER: The Weston Democrat PUBLIC NOTICE DATE: June 2, 2026 Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. has conducted remediation at the former Halliburton Jane Lew Field Camp property located at 1628 Jackson Mill Road, Jane Lew, WV under the Voluntary Remediation and Redevelopment Act. An application to enroll in the Voluntary Remediation Program was accepted on November 1, 2016 and an Agreement was established on October 3, 2017. The 6.7 acre property was used as a Field Camp for Oil Field Services by Halliburton from 1968 to 2013. An environmental assessment conducted in 2014 found elevated concentrations of metals and organic compounds in the soil and groundwater at the site. Phase II Environmental Site Assessments conducted at the site from 2018 through 2024 found the site was eligible for a risk-based closure pending the restriction of groundwater and residential use at the property. A Land Use Covenant is in development to limit the future use of the property to non-residential and to prohibit the extraction of groundwater.
