MUNICIPAL SALES AND
USE TAX ORDINANCE AND B&O TAX ORDINANCE
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Oceana, West Virginia, a municipal corporation, at a special meeting of the Council of the Town of Oceana (the "Town Council") to be held on June 23, 2026, at seven o'clock (7:00) p.m. in the Oceana Town Hall, 1285 Cook Parkway, will hold a public hearing before the final vote on proposed ordinances, the principal objects of which are the enactment of a 1% municipal sales and use tax, and the reduction of B&O taxes on retailers, wholesalers, and contractors. The titles of such ordinances are:
"Ordinance Authorizing The Town of Oceana to Enact a 1% Municipal Sales and Use Tax Pursuant to W.Va. Code § 8-1-5a"; and
"Ordinance Authorizing The Town of Oceana to Reduce B&O Tax on Selected Categories Pursuant to W.Va. Code § 8-1-5a".
The final vote on adoption of said proposed ordinances shall be taken following the public hearing on June 23, 2026, at seven o'clock (7:00) p.m. in the Oceana Town Hall. Interested persons may appear and be heard by the Town Council with respect to the passage of the proposed ordinances. Following the public hearing, the Town Council shall take such actions as it shall deem proper upon the Ordinances.
