The Council of the City of Fairmont at its regular meeting held June 23, 2026, introduced and publicly read by synopsis the following City Ordinance:
An Ordinance Of The Council Of The City Of Fairmont Repealing And Replacing Section 5.3 Signs And Similar Structures Of Article 5.0 Site Standards Of The Provisions Of The City Of Fairmont's Codified Planning And Zoning Code
2. An Ordinance Of The Council Of The City Of Fairmont Providing For And Authorizing The Purchase Of Those Certain Parcels Of Real Estate Situate In The City Of Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia, Namely:

By The City Of Fairmont From The State Of West Virginia Deputy Commissioner Of Delinquent And Non-Entered Lands As A Result Of The Non-Payment Of The Real Estate Taxes And Providing For And Authorizing The Conveyance And Transfer Of Said Parcels Of Real Estate From The City Of Fairmont To Unidentified Subsequent Purchasers In Accordance With The City Of Fairmont's Approved Home Rule Plan And The Ordinances And Resolutions Adopted Thereunder.
3. An Ordinance Of The Council Of The City Of Fairmont Amending And Supplementing Part One Administrative Code – Chapter One General Provisions – Article 104 Voting Districts Section 104.08 Seventh District Of The Fairmont City Code To Provide For The Inclusion Of Certain Annexed Territory Near Carriage Drive Into The Seventh Voting District.
Copies of the proposed Ordinances are available in the Office of the City Clerk, Room 312, 200 Jackson Street, Fairmont, West Virginia.
The Public Hearing on the proposed item will be held at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in Council Chambers, at the Public Safety Building, 500 Quincy Street, Fairmont, West Virginia.
Any interested person may appear at the public hearing and be heard as to whether or not said proposed Ordinance shall be enacted. All objections and suggestions shall be heard, and Council shall take such action as it deems necessary in the premises.
