FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for INTERIOR RENOVATIONS at Belmont Career Center in St. Clairsville, OH and Harrison Career Center in Cadiz, OH, will be received by the Superintendent of the Belmont-Harrison Vocational School District, 110 Fox-Shannon Place, St. Clairsville, OH 43950 until 10:00AM/EST on THURSDAY, JULY 28, 2016. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter in the Office of the Superintendent.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish both a performance bond and a labor/material payment bond in the full amount of the contract price, and certificates of comprehensive general liability, automobile liability and worker’s compensation insurances. All bidders must be licensed to do business in the State of Ohio.
Plans and Specifications may be examined at The Builders Exchange in Cleveland, OH; The Builders Exchange in Pittsburgh, PA; and the Ohio Valley Construction Employers Councils in Wheeling, WV and Steubenville, OH or obtained through the architectural firm of Shaeffer & Madama, Inc., 57 Fourteenth Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 with a One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) deposit per set. Deposit monies will be returned to any bona fide bidder returning the documents in good, reusable condition within ten (10) consecutive calendar days following the bid opening; deductions will be made in an amount not to exceed the cost of postage. Non-bidders will not receive a refund. A CD containing Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained from the Architect for a $25.00 non-refundable payment.
A certified check or bank draft in the amount of five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the total amount of the bid, payable to Belmont-Harrison Vocational School District must be submitted with each bid; or a satisfactory bid bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of Ohio in an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the bid. The certified check, bank draft or bid bond shall be forfeited to Belmont-Harrison Vocational School District as a measure of liquidated damages should the bidder fail or refuse to execute the contract within ten (10) days following written notification of acceptance. The bid bond or check of the unsuccessful bidders will be returned when an award is made; that of the successful bidder will be returned when the contract, bonds and insurance requirements are received and approved. After the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids, no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days.
Completion time is critical to this project and may be a condition of bid selection. Total completion time is forty-five (45) consecutive calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed or date of contract, whichever is soonest.
The Belmont-Harrison Vocational School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding. All bids submitted should be marked on the outside of the envelope as “BID FOR BELMONT- HARRISON CAREER CENTER INTERIOR RENOVATIONS.”
A Prebid Meeting is scheduled for TUESDAY, JULY 12, 2016 at 10:00AM/EST; interested parties are to meet at Belmont Career Center, 68090 Hammond Road, St. Clairsville, OH 43950.
